In the world, not of it...

So, this past Thursday we had the pleasure of providing live music for our church's Fall Roundup. There are a lot of people who would be very upset at the event's existence, because it was on Halloween night, and we gave away candy and dressed up in costumes. There are people who get absolutely livid at these type of things because they say we shouldn't celebrate Halloween, and shouldn't even acknowledge it's existence EXCEPT to tell the people who DARE to do so that they are going straight to hell.
If you are one of those people, try and open your heart and mind to a different point of view, and check this thought out.
We had over a hundred kids from the neighborhood near our church come through our event, play games, get candy, get loved on by the church members running the different station, and hear some music and even small messages in between that honored God and preached the Gospel. And these are kids who most likely would never show up on a Sunday morning. AND, I can almost guarantee you that they would have been out "trick-or-treating" whether we had the event or not, but they would have done so without getting to hear the Gospel.
Food for thought...
